From eskulu to Cloutly
A journey of building technology for Zambian empowerment.
In 2016, I started teaching myself to code. I saw a simple problem: students in Zambia had the potential but not the tools. Access to quality learning materials was limited, expensive, or inconsistent. So instead of waiting for the system to change — I decided to build it.
I created ZedPastPapers, which today serves 200,000+ users every month and 2–6 million visitors per year. I then built eskulu, an AI-powered e-learning platform with free notes, past papers, an AI tutor, quizzes, and an online learning community — all designed for the Zambian ECZ curriculum. eskulu has reached 500,000+ students across Zambia.
Both platforms run under my registered company, Zambian Online Education Company (ZOEC). The eskulu platform was selected for the ZICTA Innovation Programme top 5. I've been invited to national events, met the Minister of Technology three times, and was in the same room as the Presidents of Ghana and Zambia during the ZDA Business Forum.
Now with Cloutly, I'm applying the same philosophy — leveraging AI and technology to create real economic opportunity. This time, the focus is the creator economy. I believe Zambian youth can earn meaningful income by creating content for brands, and Cloutly is the infrastructure to make that happen.
