Getting paid as a content creator in Zambia

TikTok, YouTube and Facebook don't pay creators in Zambia for views yet. Zambian creators earn from brand deals, gifts from fans and selling their own products instead. Here are straight answers about how that works, and how Cloutly pays you in kwacha to mobile money.

Making money as a creator in Zambia

Is TikTok monetized in Zambia?

Not directly by TikTok. As of 2026, TikTok's Creator Rewards Program, which pays creators for views, is only open to creators living in a short list of countries such as the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea and Brazil. Zambia is not on that list, so views alone do not earn a Zambian TikToker money from TikTok.

Zambian TikTok creators still get paid for their content. They get paid through brand deals, sponsored videos for businesses that want to reach their audience, and through direct support from fans. Cloutly is built for exactly that. Brands in Zambia post paid adverts, you apply with your TikTok account, post the video, and get paid in kwacha to Airtel Money, MTN MoMo or Zamtel Kwacha. You can also put a Cloutly Gifts link in your TikTok bio so your followers can send you money.

How can I make money on TikTok in Zambia?

The three ways that work in Zambia today are brand deals, fan support and selling your own products. All three are on Cloutly, and you can do all three with the same account.

Brand deals: brands post paid adverts on Cloutly, you apply, and when the brand approves your video you are paid your full agreed amount to mobile money. Fan support: Cloutly Gifts gives you a link for your bio, cloutly.app/g/your-name, where fans send you gifts by mobile money or card. Selling products: a Cloutly Store gives you your own online shop for merch, clothing, cosmetics or art.

TikTok LIVE gifts depend on TikTok's own rules for your region, so check the LIVE section of your TikTok app for what is available to you.

Is YouTube monetized in Zambia?

Not through YouTube ads yet. As of 2026, Zambia is not on the list of countries where the YouTube Partner Program is available. That is the programme that shares ad revenue with creators, so a channel run from Zambia cannot earn from YouTube ads.

Zambian YouTubers earn instead from sponsorships and from their audience directly. On Cloutly, brands pay creators for sponsored videos and posts, and your Gifts link lets viewers support you from the description of every video.

Can I monetize Facebook or Instagram in Zambia?

Not through Meta's own payouts yet. Meta has opened in-stream ads and Reels monetization to a few African countries, such as Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and Egypt. As of 2026, Zambia is not one of them.

Brand deals are the main way Zambian Facebook and Instagram creators get paid. On Cloutly you can apply for brands' paid adverts with your Facebook page or Instagram account and get paid to mobile money once the brand approves your post.

How do content creators get paid in Zambia?

Most Zambian content creators are paid by brands for sponsored posts, with the money sent to mobile money: Airtel Money, MTN MoMo or Zamtel Kwacha. Fan support and selling merch are the other big income streams.

The hard part has usually been finding brands and making sure you actually get paid. On Cloutly the brand loads the money before the advert starts, so the payment is already there when you post. You submit your link, the brand approves your work and the money goes straight to your Cloutly wallet, ready to withdraw.

How many followers do I need to make money as a creator?

You don't need a huge following. Brands choose creators for their audience and engagement, so a smaller account with real, engaged followers can still win paid work.

On Cloutly you add your follower count and audience metrics for each platform when you sign up, and brands see them when you apply. Keep them honest and up to date. Posting regular, original content does more for you than chasing a follower number.
